Reminder of January 15 deadline

The freshman deadline for Fall 2015 admission is Thursday, January 15. Freshman applicants who submit all of their completed Common Application and all supplemental materials by this date are guaranteed a response from our office in writing by April 1; decisions are not provided electronically.

Students applying to programs in VCU's School of the Arts should view their website for any additional requirements, such as portfolios, auditions, essays, etc. For more information, contact Erin Neff Garmezy at (804) 828-1113 or neffel@vcu.edu.

Freshman applicants with a minimum of a 3.3 GPA can request to have their application reviewed without submitting test scores through our new score optional review process. They must send an email request to ugtestopt@vcu.edu. Freshman applicants interested in the School of Engineering and the Honors College are required to submit test scores.

Please note that students who were interested in being considered for merit-based scholarships should have submitted their test scores by the December 1 deadline.

Open House and Preview Day

VCU will have Open House on Saturday, February 7, 2015. Open House is a terrific opportunity for students who want to get a more in-depth look at VCU. Students can connect with faculty and learn more about our academic programs, such as the Honors College, pre-health advising, and more. Students can learn more about support services here at VCU, including financial aid. Students can also tour some of the on-campus residence halls and the Cary Street Gym.

Our Preview Day for Accepted Students will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2015. Accepted students can attend special information sessions, tour the Monroe Park Campus, see inside of our residence halls, and more! They can also accept their offer of admission while visiting with us. Students who accept our offer of admission before or during Preview Day will be able to register first for the summer New Student Orientation. Once Preview Day has concluded, accepted students are encouraged to attend the Intercultural Festival in Monroe Park. The festival is organized by VCU's Office of Multicultural Student Affairs and features performances, music and food.

Families are encouraged to attend both Open House and Preview Day.

High school spring break visits

Between March 30 and April 11, 2015, when most high school students are on spring break, VCU will offer special information sessions for both prospective and accepted students. Prospective student sessions will be offered Monday through Friday at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Accepted student sessions will be held at 11:30 a.m.Monday through Friday.

Please note that the VCU Welcome Center will be closed on Saturday, April 4. Information sessions and campus tours will not be conducted.

Check your VIP page

Students can check the status of their application on the VCU VIP page. The VIP page allows applicants to verify that the Office of Admissions received all of the necessary application materials. Students can also call the Office of Admissions at 804-828-1222 or 800-841-3638 and speak with a counselor or processor to verify that all materials have been received.

Receptions for accepted students

VCU hosts receptions for prospective and accepted students throughout the year. In addition, our recruiting staff will be conducting visits to high schools and attending college fairs throughout the winter and spring. Check out the In Your Town section of our website to see when we'll be in your area.
