Happy New Year and welcome back! We hope 2015 is off to a great start for you and your students. It's time for another edition of Cowboy Connection from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Oklahoma State.
Priority Scholarship Deadline is Approaching - Feb. 1
Seniors need to apply online by Feb. 1 for priority scholarship consideration. To be fully considered for all possible scholarships, students should complete the online application, pay the $40 application fee (or submit a fee waiver), submit their official high school transcript and official ACT or SAT scores. If you are submitting students' transcripts, please note that only one transcript needs to be sent per student who has applied. Click here for more information on submitting official documents. Submitting responses to our essay questions, as well as any leadership or service experience, is also strongly recommended.
It's FAFSA time!
It's time for your seniors to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students should complete the FAFSA online at fafsa.ed.gov. We've created these 2-minute videos about the FAFSA and how to complete the financial aid process at OSU.

Senior Day | Saturday, Jan. 24
Your students are invited to Senior Day at OSU!
Admitted students can sign up early for New Student Orientation, Camp Cowboy and register for housing. Have your students bring official transcripts and test scores to apply on campus or update their information for scholarship consideration. Your students will also be able to: - Explore a variety of housing, fraternity and sorority options.
- Interact with current students and explore opportunities in Undergraduate Research and The Honors College.
- Meet with campus representatives from offices like Scholarships & Financial Aid and Undergraduate Admissions.
Encourage your students to sign up today!
Residual ACT Testing
The OSU Testing Center administers the Residual ACT for OSU and NOC-Stillwater admissions applicants who are unable to take the associated national test on a regularly scheduled date. Students are required to apply for admission to an OSU A&M campus or to NOC Stillwater before they register for the Residual ACT.
Unlike national tests, scores for these residual tests cannot be released to any other schools. The Institutional SAT is not offered.
Please note that residual test scores do not apply to all scholarships, so we strongly recommend students take a national test. Additionally, students can take the Residual ACT only once per testing year (Nov. 1 through Oct. 31).
Financial Aid Webinars
Oklahoma State is providing a three-part online series, Understanding College Financial Aid, throughout the year. You can access previous webinar recordings, as well as registration information for future webinars, at the links below: The next student and family webinars will take place Thursday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. CT for Oklahoma families, and 8:30 p.m. CT for out-of-state families. This is a terrific way to support your students and their families as they prepare to invest and finance their education. We invite you to participate and ask you to encourage your students and their families to join us as well.
Financial Aid and Oklahoma's Promise Workshops
We're headed to Oklahoma City and Tulsa to tell students more about Scholarships and Financial Aid at Oklahoma State University, including filing the FAFSA and the financial aid process. We'll also offer information for Oklahoma's Promise eligible students to explain how the Oklahoma's Promise award can be applied at OSU for a great educational value.
