Fwd: Scholarship Announcement - SHPE Austin - Please Post



The Austin Community Foundation is pleased to announce the SHPE Austin Scholarship

 

SHPE's vision is a world where Hispanics are highly valued and influential as leading innovators, scientists, mathematicians and engineers. SHPE changes lives by empowering the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support and development.

 

Application Deadline:  April 15 by midnight

 

Selection Criteria:

 

·         Be of Hispanic heritage

·         Have a minimum 2.5 GPA

·         Intend to pursue or currently be pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM)

·         Be a high school senior attending an Austin-area high school (located in Travis, Hays, or Williamson counties) or

·         Be a currently enrolled college student attending a 4 year public or private university in the Austin area (located in Travis, Hays, or Williamson counties)

·         Be a full-time student enrolled for the 2015-2016 academic year

·         Preference will be given to current SHPE or SHPE Jr. members

 

SHPE plans to award up to three (3) $1,000 scholarships  Payment will be made directly to the scholarship recipient's college of choice.
